/dopo

It's easy...

/dopo something I need to send now otherwise I'll forget

...and it will go now, but be delivered at 9:00 tomorrow.

What's the point?

Sometimes we catch up with work in the evening, or you're in a timezone and your afternoon is someone else's evening, and even if the intentions are good and you're not trying to disturb your colleague's evening they answer :(

We need to maintain a work-life and be considerate of our colleuges. Setting a reminder to send the message tomorrow isn't the same as replying or getting something off the to-do list now, so this is what dopo does.

/dopo let's catch up about the wham jammer when you have a moment

The dopo command will send it at 9:00 tomorrow. If it's a direct message it's in their timezone, otherwise it's yours.

Why this Slack bot? Privacy!

This is a pretty simple bot and the other offerings aren't clear what they are doing with the messages sent.

One says all the right things about compliance, but it still worried us that a private message was going to be stored and possibly analysed by another system. That is one thing, but if their system was compromised it would be very worrying.

Our bot does not store your messages. Slack's api allows messages to be scheduled, so the bot has no need to store it for this purpose.

So, your messages are not read, analysed or stored. You can read more about privacy here.
